This program follows RFT Coaching's general fitness program, a periodized system that flows through the 5 pillars of fitness focusing on one major pillar at a time.

Each phase (3-5 weeks) will focus on one of these pillars but always include elements from the others. This program will require you to have access to a gym and know proper lifting techniques. We will attach videos to the workouts as needed.

Obstacle Course Race Prep Subscription

This program is based on RFT Coaching's work with obstacle course racers. It is designed to help you not just finish a race, but to excel at it. This program is a trickle down version of our elite and professional obstacle race program.

This is a periodized program that focuses on the months of April - October being the "race season".

Periods include:

1) Strength and Endurance

2) Work Capacity, Obstacle Specific Strength, Endurance

3)Endurance, Speed, and Obstacle Strength

4) Durability and Recovery

You can expect to see elements from our general strength and conditioning program (using odd shaped items, and body weight) as well as our endurance program mixed into this training system.

While not required, it is helpful to have access to a gym or some basic equipment for this program.

Short Distance OCR Program

This program is designed to get you through a short distance (3-5 miles or 5-9 km) course. It uses bodyweight movements, running and some limited equipment. This plan is suitable for all abilities and, if this is your first race, is a perfect start to get your training on the right track.

Medium Distance OCR Plan

This plan is designed to build up the fitness required to get you through a medium distance (6-11 miles, 10-18 km) course. It suitable to all levels and can be used to compliment to shorter course if scaling up your training program. This plan uses bodyweight movements, running, intervals, and some equipment.

Long Course OCR Program

This plan includes 12 weeks of training sessions to prepare you for the time and distance required to complete races in the 10-13 mile (16-21 km) range.

This plan is suitable for all levels but is geared more toward the intermediate athlete who has completed shorter courses in the past and is familiar with training movements.
